John Meech Room

The John Meech Room offers a fine, handcrafted, queen pencil post bed in cherry wood, standing between the windows and overlooking the front gardens. The Meech bed accurately depicts how the arrangement was found in the home during the colonial period when John Meech resided here. During the winter, the bed would have been draped with heavy curtains to keep the occupant warm. However, recent updates have to the room provide the modern amenities enjoyed by all, without taking away from its country charm. The morning sun rises in this east room, but for those of you who want an extra hour or two of sleep, the darkening curtains may be drawn the night before.

Dusty rose and chocolate brown colors were chosen in this room to enhance the collection of brown voile bedding and antique linens that stretch across the 15' x 15' queen bed. Decorating the room is various rustic antiques and fresh flowers. Other notable features include a full-size, pull-out trundle, an individual air conditioning unit, and a wood burning fireplace. Book this room for $159 per night per couple and add $20 to the total for each additional person. Moreover, guests have access to a private bathroom with handcrafted soaps for your personal use.

Avery Browning Room

Also featuring a queen-sized, pencil post bed made of ash and draped in line-dried linens, the Avery Browning Room provides guests with a splendid view overlooking our garden. This room features a wood-burning fireplace and an antique green wardrobe full of vintage clothing, and is decorated daily with fresh flowers from the garden. Moreover, guests have access to a private bathroom with handcrafted soaps for your personal use.

Weaving Room

Name for the activity which was performed here, the Weaving Room offers guests a private bathroom with handcrafted soaps, and a lovely view of the garden. Guests can take a load off on the expertly crafted, queen-sized pencil post bed made from sturdy oak and resting upon the original wide floor planks of the colonial house. This room also features evening turn-down for late sleepers and the original batten and plank doors. Please note that this room is approached by a steep staircase and may not be suitable for certain guests.
